Are you overwhelmed by the number of museums in Berlin? Would you like to explore them all? Before the summer is over, take this chance to explore the museums in Berlin on August 25th. As a part of the Museum Summer project, Long Night of Museums welcome you to over 80 participating museums this year. Grab your pass and get going!
Long Night of Museums: What is it?
Debuted in 1997, the Long Night of Museums took place in February as a project between the city museums and marketing department. 18 museums participated in the event and welcomed 6000 visitors. Thanks to a unique concept and special values, the Long Night of Museums have expanded and replicated in more than a hundred cities worldwide.
The event is a highlight of MuseumSommer project and a Berliner original that you should never miss. The event starts at 18:00 bringing unique opportunities to explore the precious assets of humankind. You should feel free to visit any of the participating museums throughout the night. Besides unusual opening hours, the Long Night of Museums offers a meeting platform to all those who appreciate culture, art or history. So, it is just the thing you need if you would like to make friends who share these interests. A “Warteschlange” – a long queue should not matter as long as you have an interesting conversation, should it?
Do not miss it this year!
This year, the Long Night of Museums features 80 participating museums in total. These include the gems of the Museum Island and Berlin’s other must-visit museums. Entry to the world of museums costs only 18,-€, with concessions for students. Moreover, shuttle buses will make your journey to the museums easier. 6 bus routes will guarantee your passage to any museum.
Participating museums promise to make it worth your time. They will host a wide range of side programs. A tea ceremony, a bazaar and folk dance are just a few of the many highlights. A detailed program is HERE.
